Holiday Entitlement
All office-based staff, irrespective of length of service, are granted 25 days annual leave and 12 public holidays. This entitlement is based on a five-day week and is granted pro rata for those who work less than five days. The leave year is January – December and staff are allowed to carry up to five days over into the next year if they have been unable to take all of their allocated leave.
In addition, the Association operates a flexi-time system which allows staff, who have worked sufficient hours over their contractual hours, to take an additional day off every four week period.
Given that annual leave is calculated on the basis of working days, a general or public holiday falling within a period of annual leave shall not count a part of that annual leave. Where a period of illness covered by a medical certificate coincides with a general or public holiday, a staff member shall be entitled to a day in lieu. The following public holidays are recognised by the Association:
